Johanna + Justice | C-Street

I met Johanna and Justice recently after selecting them as the recipients of my free couple’s session held in downtown Springfield, MO. I was looking for a couple who was not only in love and passionate, but fun! She submitted their picture (with a hungry giraffe and some big smiles!) and I knew they were going to be a great fit for this session!

We sat at Big Momma’s Coffee & Espresso Bar getting to know each other for a bit before the session started, and I could tell how committed they were in their relationship both to God and to each other.

How they met…

We met on the leadership team for a campus ministry called Chi Alpha at College of the Ozarks. We were on a leadership retreat and stood next to each other in a prayer circle. As we held hands in the circle, we both could feel the presence of the Holy Spirit on the other and knew something crazy was about to happen. A couple weeks later we went on another retreat and ended up in the woods praying about our future and the risks that were soon to come. (Johanna may or may not have been wearing a kangaroo onesie at the time.) A few months later we found ourselves in the prayer room on campus, taking communion with some of our closest friends, celebrating our engagement. It was a whirlwind of super quick emotions but we knew it was the Lord’s timing and not ours.

For our session we started along historic C-Street (Commercial Street), utilizing various colors and textures available in the buildings that we passed. Then we headed to one of the lofts owned and designed by Charity at Refine Studios where we finished up. This loft was both unique and fun to shoot at! I mean, you have swings instead of bar stools; rich and bold colors, wood floors, brick walls, large windows, and some eclectic decor.

Congratulations to you both! Your journey has just begun and I know God has so many exciting things for your future!
